The Convention Center moves forward on its massive "entertainment district." NOPD nearing full compliance with the consent decree. And COVID vaccinations among white New Orleans residents outpace vaccinations among Black residents.

This week on Behind the Lens, a massive new waterfront development project took a big leap forward as the New Orleans Convention Center’s governing board selected a development team.

The NOPD could be in full compliance with its long-running federal consent decree by the summer, and the city is hoping to get it lifted.

Black New Orleanians are not receiving vaccinations at the rate of white residents and the city is working to reverse the trend.

Our guests this week are government and cultural economy reporter Michael Isaac Stein, criminal justice reporter Nick Chrastil, health reporter Philip Kiefer and The Lens editor Charles Maldonado.

Behind The Lens is available on Apple PodcastsSpotifyGoogle Play and Stitcher. And we broadcast the show on community radio stations 102.3 FM WHIV LP in Mid-City and 90.3 FM WAMF-LP in the Marigny.
