Behind The Lens episode 116: Modified Phase 1B

Back to school, now with vaccine for teachers. If they can get them. And a Tulane School of Medicine administrator alleges discrimination at the university.

This week on Behind the Lens, New Orleans public school students prepare to head back into the classroom after the Mardi Gras break with no clear picture on case numbers of COVID in that community, but teachers have now been added to the priority list for the vaccine.

The Tulane University School of Medicine is embroiled in controversy after suspending a doctor from her position overseeing a residency program. The doctor, who is Black, had filed a lawsuit alleging racial discrimination, and she believes the suspension was retaliatory.

Our guests this week are education reporter Marta Jewson, health reporter Philip Kiefer and The Lens editor Charles Maldonado.

Behind The Lens is available on Apple PodcastsSpotifyGoogle Play and Stitcher. And we broadcast the show on community radio stations 102.3 FM WHIV LP in Mid-City and 90.3 FM WAMF-LP in the Marigny.
