Last year, most of the charter boards failed to follow state law requiring them to keep the public informed of their budgeting process. This year, 25 of the 43 schools complied, and another dozen came close.
Akili Academy students next year will say goodbye to modular classrooms in Gentilly and hello to a renovated school building in the Upper 9th Ward.
