Board members overseeing Edward Hynes Charter School have adopted a $6.5 million budget for the 2014-15 school year.

The budget anticipates enrollment rising by 32 students to 682.

Expenses of $6.65 million will slightly outpace revenues, projected at $6.47 million. The 2013-14 spending plan anticipated revenues of $5.8 million.

Most of the revenue increase will come from per-pupil government funding, according to the preliminary numbers.

Boosting costs, Hynes plans to add two teachers next year and has included custodians among salaried workers.

Altogether, the changes increase salaries by $355,485 for a total of $3.5 million.

The school also plans to purchase additional computers to meet new testing regulations.

Repairs and maintenance costs are expected to increase fivefold, to $149,484, as part of the move into a new building.

A $185,958 deficit will be covered by net assets related to the donation of a completed playground to the Orleans Parish School Board, according to notes on the approved budget.
