Algiers
1724-26 Nunez St. Owner Keith Victor has applied to demolish this
Arts-and-Crafts style double shotgun to be replaced with a new home of no
specific design (no proposed plan or elevations were included with the
application).

I had never been to this part of Algiers before. The light was perfect, I always feel like I am on an Island in Algiers.

WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO TEAR DOWN THIS PROPERTY?
Good question.
This post will be included in today’s edition of the “Carnival of Hurricane Relief.” See:

One question from a non-native: what is the bridge above and behind the house?
This house is on the West Bank. The Bridge is the Crescent City Connection. This part of New Orleans did not flood
I cannot belive that someone would tear down a house that is in what appears to be perfect condition. Maybe they should sell it to Habitat and let them give it to a family that wants to return to New Orleans.
Thank you for documenting these homes it may be the only history the city have of them 25 yrs. down the road.
