The owners of this property had applied for a *VOLUNTARY* demolition. It was denied. I incorrectly posted a photo of the house across the Street. Here is the correct house….

2 Years Later
We, as citizens have made great strides in the last 2 years, we elected a City Council, which for the most part has “challenged”:http://ashleymorris.typepad.com/ashley_morris_the_blog/2007/08/look-to-the-fut.html our Federal Government and “demanded”:http://www.nola.com/news/t-p/frontpage/index.ssf?/base/news-23/1188368639232970.xml&coll=1 more from our local City Officials. We can be proud of those attempts. Our seemingly slow progress has been made more difficult by the “Mayor”:http://blog.nola.com/times-picayune/2007/08/nagin_calls_nos_dangerous_imag.html who […]
Is this Process Fixed? And who is in charge?
I have been trying to find out who the new point person is since the Office of Recovery Managment led by Dr. Blakely has taken over the demolition process. At this point in time I have been unable to find the point person and have been bounced back to Code Enforcement, the department which is […]

One Off the List
Over the past few weeks I have had the chance to speak to and befriend many homeowners who are trying to get off this list. For some reason may New Orleanians have chosen to believe that the displaced property owner is the enemy. Yesterday Ryan and his crew from “PNOLA”:http://www.pnola.org/ helped Beverly clean out her […]

2614 Palmyra St. {3rd Ward} FEMA 106 List
FEMA 106 LIST. Aug. 10th, 2007 What is the excuse behind this house’s slow degeneration? I’d like to know. I hope the owners show up at the HCDRC meeting so we can hear the horror story behind its years of neglect.
1808-10 Cleveland Ave. {3rd Ward} FEMA 106
FEMA 106 List Aug. 10th, 2007 This house is in the HCDRC district, it should come up for review. The lower end of Cleveland is pretty desolate. Many houses stand isolated due to previous de-housification and some houses have been hosts to vagrants and caught on fire. Things aren’t looking good for this house.
