The Edward Hynes Charter School board of directors will meet June 9 at 4 p.m. to discuss the school’s proposed budget for the coming year.

The Lakeview school, which is governed by the Hynes Charter School Corp. and offers classes from pre-K through eighth grade, will present a $6.4 million budget proposal at the hearing.

The school plans to make the budget available for public viewing on May 26, according to chief financial officer John Gaudry.

Gaudry advised that changes would likely be made to the preliminary budget between now and then.

The final budget must be approved by the school’s directors and submitted to the Orleans Parish School Board by July 1, Gaudry said.

The hearing will be held at 990 Harrison Ave., and is open to the public.
