This is what I see from my front porch. Even though they opened up after the flood, the Archdiocese shut them down while they made a plan now the Archdiocese gets ready to spring their plans, but who knows what they are.

    There are questions about St. Henry’s, Our Lady of Good Counsel and maybe some others which are financially sound but land-rich.

    Closing neighborhood churches will not reinvigorate local Catholicism. It will instead generate outrage and feelings of betrayal as it uproots and alienates people who found in their neighborhood congregations familiarity, spiritual solace and a sense of community.
