There are questions about St. Henry’s, Our Lady of Good Counsel and maybe some others which are financially sound but land-rich.
Closing neighborhood churches will not reinvigorate local Catholicism. It will instead generate outrage and feelings of betrayal as it uproots and alienates people who found in their neighborhood congregations familiarity, spiritual solace and a sense of community.
