New Marigny 2016 N. Rocheblave St. Owners Stacy & Mark Andrews have applied to demolish this modified camelback shotgun double residence to be replaced with a vacant lot.
hcdrc is probally going to approve this for demolition also
this house in not in a historic district. it is considered the seventh ward neighboorhood not new maringy, there is not really a new maringy neighborhood the new maringy neightboorhood is really two neighboorhoods together, the seventh ward and st roch. new maringy is the offical name of the historic district and. unfortunatly for that house it is not in a historic district so it probally will be approved for demolition by the hcdrc. think about a time when the hcdrc has not aprroved a demolition outside a historic diststirct; not many times, however in the near future this neighboorhood may become a historic distrcit. most likely an extension of the new maringy historic district.
Randall, Thanks for the Neighborhood defintion. I have been concerned that I would place a house incorrectly and hoped that folks would leave comments as to a location.
did they get approved? that was a fast demolition. is it an illegal demolition?
Sorry I was showing someone how to post a photo and I included a shot of a house at Camp and Napoleon that is getting demolished. I have since taken it off.
