The Orleans Schools Superintendent has called for the school to close. District expected to run the school directly through the end of the year following the end of its charter.

The school would be run directly by the district. At a meeting on Tuesday, Lewis renewed his call for the Harney's board to surrender the school.
Interim principal appointed following suspension of school leader Ashonta Wyatt. Wyatt says she fired the interim appointee last week.
At Monday night meeting, school district superintendent and other officials said board mismanagement led to decision.
The principal thinks the board may be intending to use a defamation claim from Juan LaFonta as a false pretext for firing.
The school district cited the school for late payments over three months in 2017, but it missed other payments too. Repayments for lost earnings total less than $600.
The school has racked up nine district warnings this year.
During the same time period, the school delayed its employees’ retirement benefit payments.
Brent Washington Sr. is under a formal investigation for doing accounting work for Harney on the side.
