Mencken must have talking about the Mayor when he wrote this. “This morning the TP”:http://www.nola.com/news/index.ssf/2008/09/teardowns_now_need_consent.html ran an article about the Mayor and his Executive Order.

The logic behind this is simply stunning. The City HAS ALWAYS has the authority to demolish houses that are in Imminent Danger of Collapse. What they want now is to bypass a commitee which has been recently put in place that his Administration does not like.

What happens when he does not like something else??
