I came home and the Neighbor was knocking down this addition to his house. Without a permit. They were preparing to attach a cable to the roof and pull it down with a truck. This after 2 days of sledge hammer work. Another neighbor, concerned that the gas pipes had not been capped called the Police. I have a feeling I am going to be looking at this for a long time.

  1. What is the penalty for demolishing a house without a permit? Does it matter if it’s the whole house vs just part of the house?

    It must’t be much, or not enforced if people are doing it so brazenly. Hmm.

  2. I thought that house looked familiar. You’re lucky they tried to demo it with a sledgehammer and not dynamite. The owner is not the brightest penny in the pile. Thank your neighbor for me for reporting it. Why was she demolishing it, by the way?
