Three top Orleans Parish school district administrators have resigned from the central office, district officials confirmed.

Assistant Superintendent Adam Hawf and Chief Strategy Officer Colleston Morgan Jr. resigned at the end of July. Forrest Collins, the director of new school development, resigned June 22.

Dominique Ellis, a spokeswoman for the school district, confirmed their departures but did not say who would be filling their positions. Mary Garton is the new assistant superintendent, according to the district’s proposed budget. She previously served as chief student services officer.

The shakeup came as the Orleans Parish school district took control of all state-run Recovery School District charter schools in a unification plan set into motion by state legislators.

Hawf is a partner at the Grand Isle Group, which does education consulting work. He previously worked for the RSD and the Louisiana Department of Education. He joined the Orleans Parish school district in 2016, according to his LinkedIn profile. As assistant superintendent, he served as the top deputy to Superintendent Henderson Lewis Jr.

Morgan spent two years as chief strategy officer, where he led unification planning. He started working in the district’s charter school office in 2012.

Collins worked directly under Morgan at the district. He previously worked for the Algiers Charter Schools Association.

Collins now works in San Antonio, where he’s the regional director of staffing for IDEA Public Schools, a Texas-based charter school network.

“My family relocated to Texas to be closer to my in-laws,” he said in an interview Tuesday.

Hawf and Morgan did not respond to requests for comment for this story.
