3319-21 Iberville – Herbert Carver, owner. City of New Orleans,
FEMA funded demolition (voluntary demolition). Demolition of a bracket-style double shotgun. No redevelopment plan submitted.
This property appeared on SH previously but the owners are now applying for a private demo, they got tired of waiting for FEMA, I am guessing.
I don’t get it. Why would the owner of this property want it demolished? What am I missing? It’s becoming increasingly difficult in New Orleans to find a shotgun double with original brackets, attic window, front windows and transoms. Is the neighborhood that bad, or are the owners just that lazy?
I wrote about this too, many months ago:
http://b.rox.com/archives/2006/11/28/slated-for-demolition/
FEMA removed this from their demo list because it didn’t meet some criterion, but they never explained why!
Hey, why does the HCDRC agenda say “FEMA funded”? I thought FEMA passed on this back in February?
in very interested in investing in this home.
