Lycée Français de la Nouvelle-Orléans will have a public hearing on the charter school’s $3.7 million budget in two weeks.
Last fall the charter school’s board was forced to cut more than $200,000 after discovering it had begun the year approximately $85,000 in debt. The school made staff cuts, used its $90,000 reserve fund and amended the budget in November.
The 2013-2014 $3.7 million budget reflects an increase over last year’s $3.1 million budget as the school continues to grow. Lycée will add third grade in the fall.
Members of the public are invited to comment on the proposed budget at the hearing on July 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the school, 5951 Patton St.
