Damage Wizard : Only 28.5 % Though this has not been remediated since the storm, it does have some shoring issue but could be fixed for a reasonable amount of money because it’s a single shotgun. This does not meet the FEMA 50 percent minimum criteria for taxpayer funded demolition.

  1. Posted to FEMA’s website:

I would like to suggest an alternative to demolition for 314 N Gayoso Street, New Orleans LA 70119.

The specific alternative I would like to suggest is: renovation.

The owner should feel free to contact the Mid-City Neighborhood Organization if he or she needs help figuring out alternatives to demolition. MCNO is forming a housing committee to address helping property owners who may be confronting difficult problems renovating historic properties such as this. The MCNO website is at http://mcno.org/

This house is part of the distinctive housing stock of a national historic district. Please don’t tear it down. I live two blocks from here and feel that tearing this house down would diminish the neighborhood.

  2. I have just move to the New Orleans area and I would like to buy a cheap house that needs fixing . i heard there is some FEMA houses for purchase, but i can not fine a web site.

    can you help
