This week on Behind The Lens, the largest new delta in North America is forming through a naturally occurring sediment diversion on the Mississippi River. Scientists there say the land-building power of the channel can be seen right under their feet. 

New Orleans decentralized school system problems to spring up, In one recent case a kindergartener with special needs spent nearly all of an academic year and the start of a second without any schooling, as the district and charter group KIPP New Orleans argue over whose responsibility it is to provide the proper services.

Heldman moved to New Orleans last summer with her husband and canine companion and they live happily in The Marigny.
