Cantrell ends furloughs for some employees. City schools move back to virtual. And older prisoners will soon get the vaccine.

This week on Behind the Lens, Mayor LaToya Cantrell’s office announced that partial furloughs for city workers involved in public safety and emergency response would be cancelled in anticipation of a sunnier revenue outlook for 2021.

New Orleans schools were back in session after the holiday break for just three days before moving to virtual learning again due to the dramatic increase in the positivity rate in the city.
