Behind The Lens episode 104: ‘Indefinitely and perpetually’

A wrap on Tuesday's local elections. (Those have actually ended.) And the Wisner Trust is back in the news again.

This week, on Behind the Lens, results and analysis of the major races and outcomes from Tuesday’s election with our panel of reporters.

And the Wisner Land Trust. The century-old trust agreement was supposed to have terminated six years ago, theoretically giving the city of New Orleans full control of 50,000 acres of valuable, income-producing land. Instead, Mayor LaToya Cantrell unilaterally (and perhaps illegally) signed an agreement that purports to extend it forever, potentially costing the city millions per year.

Our guests this week are government and cultural economy reporter Michael Isaac Stein, criminal justice reporter Nick Chrastil, education reporter Marta Jewson, freelance reporter Madeline Aruffo and The Lens editor, Charles Maldonado.

Behind The Lens is available on Apple PodcastsSpotifyGoogle Play and Stitcher. And we broadcast the show on community radio stations 102.3 FM WHIV LP in Mid-City and 90.3 FM WAMF-LP in the Marigny.
