Central City double, a few doors down from the B.W. Cooper housing projects. I talked to a guy doing work on a house across the street, and he said he thought they may have started to rebuild and then gave up. He couldn’t tell me anything about the residents or owners or where they were or whether they’re coming back.
Orleans Parish Assessor records show that the owner of this property also owns 2756 Gladiolus Street in the upper 9th Ward (which is not on the FEMO Section 106 list), and resides in Algiers.
The house has been almost completely stripped down to the frame except for the front facade…floors, walls, ceilings, and roof are all gone. Some of the frame inside is falling down, and there isn’t much left in the way of historical detail.
