Encore Academy’s board will hold a public hearing on the school’s 2014-15 budget today at 6 p.m. in the Crocker Elementary building, 2301 Marengo St.

The arts-oriented Orleans Parish School Board charter expects to move to a new building in time for the coming school year, the former John A. Shaw Elementary in the St. Roch neighborhood. Renovation of the building, near the corner of Arts and Music streets, is  expected to be finished by August.

Officials set an enrollment goal of 316 for the 2013-14 year. The new facility allows for continuing growth in the years ahead.
