Behind The Lens episode 207: ‘It’s not sustainable’

Nick Chrastil on a "re-envisioned" gun violence prevention initiative and Marta Jewson on the school board's skyrocketing property insurance premiums.

This week on Behind The Lens, the City of New Orleans announced a new violence prevention initiative that will include the reintroduction of so-called violence interrupters who had been sidelined for the last two years. 

And The Louisiana Supreme Court has declined to take up a case challenging the legality of sending kids arrested in Louisiana to juvenile detention centers out of state.

Also, as insurance companies across the country are facing increased costs dealing with the effects of climate change, Louisiana has been particularly hard hit. NOLA Public Schools officials say the increases they are facing are unsustainable
