Behind The Lens episode 175: ‘The evidence was not there’

A federal jury acquits Orleans Parish DA Jason Williams on 10 counts of tax fraud. And the New Orleans City Council and Entergy agree to a moratorium on service suspensions.

On this week’s episode, reporter Nick Chrastil reports from the New Orleans federal courthouse on what turned out to be the final day of jury deliberations in the federal tax fraud case against Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams. Hours after this episode was recorded on Thursday, the jury acquitted him on all ten counts.

And a New Orleans City Council committee has approved a moratorium on Entergy electric and gas shutdowns as monthly bills have skyrocketed.
