Live blog: Schools superintendent holds forum for parents in Eastern New Orleans

Henderson Lewis continues his listening tour of all seven city school districts.

Orleans Parish schools Superintendent Henderson Lewis will host his third town-hall meeting tonight at Mildred Osborne Charter School.

The Lens will live blog it here.

Lewis will be joined by 2nd District School Board member Cynthia Cade.

At his meetings last week, Lewis began with a 15-minute presentation that draws from a presentation he gave to the public two weeks ago about his first 180 days as superintendent.

After the presentation, Lewis and Cade will take questions and comments from the public. Last week, the public asked about school construction, new buildings for all schools, charter schools and the district’s relationship with the state-run Recovery School District. The RSD controls a majority of city schools.

Tomorrow, Lewis will host another meeting with 3rd District School Board member Sarah Usdin at the new McDonogh 35 High School at 4000 Cadillac St.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 6 p.m. at Mildred Osborne Charter School at 6700 Curran Blvd.
