THE LENS WILL UNVEIL AND DEMONSTRATE THE NEWEST ADDITION TO ITS OPEN-DATA INITIATIVE: A SEARCHABLE DATABASE OF BUDGETED SALARIES FROM THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS
Tuesday, July 22, The Lens will host a news conference and hands-on demonstration for reporters of a new database of salaries for city employees, from the mayor to office assistants. In all, the searchable, sortable online tool provides information on 4,100 employees.
The database is the newest addition to The Vault, a open-data resource dedicated to accountability and transparency in government. Demonstrations also will be available for the existing information in The Vault, a collection of more than 5,000 current and past contracts executed by the city of New Orleans.

- Lens offices at Loyola University’s School of Mass Communication, in the Communications and Music Building at the corner of St. Charles Avenue and Calhoun Street.
- The Lens is in Room 401, just as you exit the elevators on the fourth floor. Demonstration is in adjacent computer lab, Room 439
- Parking has been reserved in the horseshoe parking area around the big white “Loyola” letters on St. Charles, next to Holy Name of Jesus church.
