The search for a permanent campus and the fate of the student health clinic dominated discussion at the monthly meeting of The Sci Academy board, Jan. 18.
The board’s facilities committee announced that, despite recent talks, they have determined it would not be practical to open a student clinic next fall in partnership with Methodist Health Center. But talks with Methodist will continue, the committee said.
The board’s community outreach committee said it was important to continue meeting with the Orleans Parish School Board to secure a permanent campus.
Board members accepted an invitation from students to participate as judges in a Jan. 25 science fair.
The next board meeting will be Feb. 15 at the school.
