Behind the Lens episode 221: ‘A force multiplier’

The Orleans Parish DA's office is using new predictive analytics software they say can help combat crime. Some critics are concerned. And annual A through F letter grades are in — what that means for schools.

This week on Behind the Lens, the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office is implementing new predictive analytics software they say can help combat crime in certain areas — and that even modest, strategic changes can deter future illegal activity and a pilot program was just launched to test that theory. School report cards are in. The Louisiana Department of Education released its annual A through F letter grades for local schools and, as expected, some are in trouble.

Our guests this week are Lens reporters Nick Chrastil, Marta Jewson and managing editor Katy Reckdahl.
