Behind The Lens episode 99: This is the way we go to school

Colleges and elementary schools are back in session. Wait, why is that news? Oh right.

On Behind the Lens this week, school is in for thousands of public school students enrolled in public schools in New Orleans. We checked in on the first day of class.

Some COVID patients are receiving a promising treatment at Tulane and Ochsner hospitals, we discuss the issues surrounding the decision to administer it. Also in health news, Tulane students who have tested positive for the disease or who have been exposed have been asked to self-quarantine with little guidance on how to do that. Some have opted to rent out Airbnbs throughout the city.

Our guests this week are education reporter Marta Jewson, health reporter Philip Kiefer and editor of The Lens, Charles Maldonado.

Behind The Lens is available on Apple PodcastsSpotifyGoogle Play and Stitcher. And we broadcast the show on community radio stations 102.3 FM WHIV LP in Mid-City and 90.3 FM WAMF-LP in the Marigny.
