New Orleans’ City Council weighs whether or not to maintain the current property tax rate as city officials warn of a potential $25 million budget shortfall.

Charter school operator KIPP New Orleans holds several pre-approved charters. We’ll review the pros and cons of these so-called “shelf charters.”

Also –  over 36,000 formerly incarcerated persons in Louisiana regained the right to vote this year – but advocates consider the registration process to be a form of voter suppression. Norris Henderson, founder and Executive Director of VOTE (Voice of the Experienced) joins us.
