Board members unanimously approved a preliminary budget for the Better Choice Foundation in a brief meeting at Mary Dora Coghill Charter School Wednesday evening.
The budget review accounted for the majority of the meeting, though Principal and CEO Aisha Jones briefly touched on a promising visit from Regents Bank’s corporate offices as well as a vendor update regarding the school’s landscaper.
The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. and attended by eight board members, Jones and financial consultant Sean Bruno. Though Jones stated that the school’s current enrollment is 612 students, the approved budget only accounted for an enrollment of 600 students.
Very few items were altered on the preliminary budget. Food service management funds were moved from the general to special funds column.
Bruno stated that the board would get together and go through every line item before presenting the final budget in a public hearing on Sept. 14. The hearing will be held at 10 a.m. in the Coghill Charter School library.
The meeting ended concluded at 6:31 p.m.
