Formal Citation for Demolition By Neglect

815 N. Roberston Left Side

The owner of this house is an elderly man who also owns 819 N. Robertson which is also being cited for demolition by neglect. He was missing some fingers. He asked me when he was supposed to go to the meeting. This is a shame, such a great house on a street that needs all the renovations it can get as the housing stock has been very hard hit by neglect and city projects over many many years in historic Treme.

One reply on “815 N. Robertson {6th Ward}”

  1. According to tax records 815 and 819 N Robertson are owned by two different people. And both of the structures are still there as of Feb 2008, and still blighted.

The house on the corner of Robertson & St Ann, a frame (I think) Creole cottage, looks eminently savageable, but not with this tottering hulk looming over it. Ditto the brick Creole cottage around the corner, which still has its historic dependency in the back… which sits in the shadow of both 819 and 815.

Fix them– or tear them down so that better buildings next door might have a chance at survival.
