This week on Behind The Lens, a Cameron Parish judge has ruled that state officials violated the Louisiana Constitution when they issued a permit for a liquified gas export terminal, which has since halted construction on the facility.
The decision, found that the Louisiana Department of Conservation and Energy failed to consider the environmental impacts on surrounding communities when it approved a permit for the facility.
And new research published this month in the journal Nature Sustainability found that renewable energy remains a minuscule part of the oil and gas industry portfolio which is at odds with prior public commitments made by fossil fuel giants.
Our guests this week are reporter Elise Plunk from the Louisiana Illuminator and Emily Sanders from ExxonKnews.
