This week on Behind The Lens, one year after Calvin Cains III was shot and killed by Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s deputies, his mother and father are still asking for the body cam footage from the incident, and they have filed a federal lawsuit to get it.

The defense against a federal civil rights investigation of racial discrimination and the use of excessive force by the Louisiana State Police Department is being led by a high-priced D.C. law firm, at taxpayer expense.  

A $200m redesign of City Park could result in a road cutting through Grow Dat Youth Farm, which employs 70 teens each year and grows 50,000 pounds of food for local tables.
