Behind The Lens episode 161: ‘Out of courtesy for the candidates’

New City Council district maps. OPSB moves 'one or more' superintendent candidates forward. And a federal judge tells the city to move forward on the controversial Phase III facility.

On this week’s episode, just under the wire, the New Orleans City Council finalized new maps for the city’s five council districts, but the debate on the redistricting will continue. 

The proposed jail facility known as Phase III was in the news again this week. We’ll get an update. 

The list of candidates who are vying for the superintendent job at the NOLA Public Schools district was cut down to seven this week. We will also hear about the latest COVID numbers at local schools.
