School assessment grades are in, City Council approves new electric and gas rates, and an Algiers home belonging to Senator Troy Carter goes up in flames.

The Louisiana Department of Education released its annual school performance scores; 62 schools were ranked C or below. Lens education reporter Marta Jewson has our report.

And the New Orleans City Council approved new electric and gas rates for the city, and slapped Entergy with a $1 million fine for excessive power outages. Lens reporter Michael Isaac Stein has more.

Also, neighbors say a house in Algiers Point that caught fire this week was a disaster waiting to happen; the house belongs to State Senator Troy Carter. Lens editor Charles Maldonado has the details.
