If Baton Rouge marine scientist G. Paul Kemp is not reappointed to the board of the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East, Jindal would likely have the five votes necessary on the nine-member board to kill the suit.

The New Orleans Aviation Board, faced with two bidders at odds over the fairness of evaluations of their proposals to build a half-billion-dollar new terminal at Louis Armstrong International Airport, chose Monday to restart the process rather than take sides in the dispute.

‘Overall, we’re living on revenue that we contrive and borrowing from the future,” [Robert Travis Scott, head of the Public Affairs Research Council of Louisiana] said. ‘It’s not good fiscal policy.’
